Closures and cancellations due to COVID-19

On March 31, 2020, the Premier’s Office announced an extension to the provincial school closure period in response to COVID-19. As such, Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) schools, child care centres and adult learning centres will not reopen on April 6, 2020, as originally scheduled. The Premier’s Office has stated that all publicly funded schools in Ontario will remain closed until May 4, 2020, at which time they will reassess school openings. 

The following programs/meetings will not run or are closed:
  • Permits (Community Use of Schools)
  • All EarlyON and Child Care Centres
  • Adult and continuing education
  • Dual Credit and Cooperative education programs
  • Accessibility Advisory Committee (March 30, 2020)
  • First Nations Education Advisory Committee (April 2, 2020)
  • Special Education Advisory Committee (April 6, 2020)
  • Program Standing Committee Meeting (April 8, 2020)
  • Human Resources Standing Committee Meeting (April 8, 2020)
  • Business and Facilities Standing Committee Meeting (April 8, 2020)
  • Business and Facilities Standing Committee and SEAC Budget Meeting (April 15, 2020)
  • Parent Involvement Committee (April 21, 2020)
In addition, the Education Centre and the Career Centre are closed to the public.

The May Court Club of Barrie is pleased to offer again this year Student<strong> Scholarships</strong> <strong>for</strong> students who are graduating from Barrie Secondary Schools and continuing their post-secondary education. There are ten $2000 scholarships available to deserving students in the Barrie area. To be awarded the student must have demonstrated a combination of academic merit, involvement in school and community activities and demonstrate the need for financial support. We will be discussing Nantyr's first International Food Night, organizing a Multi-Faith, Meditation and Prayer Space, and We Bake for Change. Lots of opportunities to make a positive change in your school, community and around the world!</p><p> </p><p>Attention tritons prom is May 8. You must purchase a student card before March 25 for $15.00 online. Visit our school's website and click on pay fees to set up an account on school cash online. Consider After Grad! It is a day-long event on April 22, 2020 for Grade 12 students who do <strong><em>not</em></strong> have a post-secondary plan for either work or education and takes place at Georgian College. This day has been designed to showcase potential work and educational opportunities. There are 5 workshops featuring manufacturing through Honda, hospitality and tourism through Deerhurst Resort, and skilled trades in Simcoe County. This event is FREE! Transportation and lunch is provided!
