Good Morning Nantyr, it is decade day today - a big shout out to everyone showing their school spirit.

This day in History: In Boston Harbor, a group of Massachusetts colonists disguised as Mohawk Indians boarded three British tea ships and dumped 342 chests of tea into the harbor.
The midnight raid, popularly known as the “ Boston Tea Party ,” was in protest of the British Parliament’s Tea Act of 1773

Fun Fact of the day! Although “Jingle Bells” is now a Yuletide staple, there is no mention of Christmas or any other holiday in the song. Some historical accounts report that the tune was first performed for a Thanksgiving service . It was also the first song ever broadcast from space a few days before Christmas in 1965.

Attention Tritons! It’s ON….. It’s time to Sock it to Us for charity. Christmas 4 Kids needs new teen sock donations! Help make a difference in someone’s winter by dropping off a pair of new teen socks in the bin by the triton holiday tree.

Christmas food drive: Every year Nantyr does a great job collecting food for those less fortunate. This year due to COVID restrictions, we can’t do our regular food drive, but you can
still contribute by going to school cash online and making a donation.

This Week is SPIRIT WEEK! Decade Day, Tomorrow is PJ Day, and Friday is colour day! Go Triton Pride!

A message from Mr. Vaz:
"Trivia update! Things are getting hectic up at the top of the Period 3's Trivia Leaderboard! We've got Mr. Van Voorst's class in 3rd place with 190 points, Ms. Boake's class in 2nd place with 192
points, and a three-way tie for 1st place between Ms. Lamb, Ms. Middleton, and Mr. Lormand! Don't give up yet though; the standings below 3rd place are all within a few points of each other. Congrats to the leaders, all the best to everyone else, and thanks for playing!"

And now…. the covid tip of the day. No one wants to be quarantined over the holidays. Now is the time for everyone to step it up a notch and be extra careful with masks and sanitization. Let’s all do our part so we can stay safe and healthy.
