Good Morning Nantyr! Today is Thursday April 8. Another beautiful day out
there with sunny skies and going up to a high of 22 degrees today!
Attention all staff and students: Tonight we are celebrating “An Evening of Excellence” in celebration of Honour Society Awareness Month. There will be a live zoom performance at 5pm tonight.
Presenting are Lynn Dollin (the Mayor of Innisfil) our host Dahlia Richards, Simba, the True Diversity Group, and our graduation coach, Roxanne Wittingham. Come out to listen to our students: be enlightened by their stories, captivated by their songs, and inspired by their dreams, as they share their academic journey in a number of creative ways. There will also be some fun prizes and giveaways throughout the show. Please ask your homeroom teacher for the registration link, or you can find it on the Nantyr Shores website.
Attention Tritons! This year we are celebrating the Day of Pink a little differently.
Discrimination takes many shapes, whether it’s based on race, age, disabilities, gender or sexuality. The LGBTQIA+ community is no stranger to the bullying and violence that stems from hateful beliefs. While progress has been made towards removing these social barriers from our society, discrimination still persists. So, every year in April we ask Triton staff and students to wear a pink shirt to stand in solidarity against this. Tomorrow is our official Day of Pink, so take out those pink shirts, pink pants, pink socks - pink everything to show your support! We’ll have a special addition for the first 300 students who show up tomorrow! Can’t wait to see your spirit Nantyr!!!
Hello Tritons! Do you want to make a difference in the lives of others? Do you want to make some new friends? Above all...do you want to have some fun? Why not apply to be a Link Crew Leader for the 2021-2022 school year? This is a position that is exclusively available to Grade 10's and Grade 11's! As a Link Crew Leader you will welcome the new grade 9's to Nantyr. You will also get a chance to connect with the grade 10's to show them what being a Triton is all about (because they missed out this year). In short...you will get the chance to be a part of what makes Nantyr Great! In addition, this is a chance to earn 20 volunteer hours that will go towards the OSSD requirement for graduating.
We know that this year has been different...so we are preparing for a future of fun! Come join the team and apply today!
How do you apply? Join the Link Crew 2021-2022 google classroom by entering this code 57gt6nf. In that classroom, you will find the Link Crew application form located under ASSIGNMENTS. Download the application, fill it out and submit it into the assignment's drop box by Friday, April 30 at 11:59pm. Don't delay and act today! Let's get excited!
Good morning Nantyr students and staff! This week is Reduce Single-Use Plastics week. Today we are focusing on removing plastic bags and water bottles from our everyday use. Pay attention to what we are removing on Thursday and be prepared to bring a fully waste free lunch for Friday. Make sure to fill out the reduce single use plastics google form link sent out on your class platform to help make a difference!
Attention all grade 12 Tritons:
Don't forget to buy your Graduation Cap & Gowns!! The cap & gown will be required if you would like to participate in the filming portion of our virtual commencement ceremony, and it’s yours to keep afterwards! They are available for purchase on School Cash Online for $25, until Thursday April 8th. If you already have a gown, you may purchase a cap & tassel with 2021 graduating year charm for $10.
Covid tip of the Day: Numbers are on the rise, so let’s all try to be a little more
careful as we approach the Spring season. Be sure to have your mask covering both
your nose and your mouth at all times when you are in the school, and any time you
are outside when you can’t social distance. Let’s all do our part to keep each other
And now the joke of the day:
What's red and shaped like a bucket?
A blue bucket painted red.
